Accessible by intention.
We want everyone to be able to discover a cause and find a clear way to help. We are working towards the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard.
Using this website
- Navigate links and controls with your keyboard. Press Tab to move forward and Shift + Tab to move back.
- Use the “Skip to content” link at the top of each page to reach the main content.
- Open the mobile navigation using its labelled button. Press Escape to close it and return focus to the button.
- Increase your browser zoom or text size. Content reflows for smaller screens.
- Enable reduced motion in your device settings to remove transitions and smooth scrolling.
Clear content and navigation
We use meaningful headings, descriptive links, labelled controls, visible keyboard focus and text alternatives for informative images. The cause filters announce their selected state and update the result count for assistive technology.
Donation links display the destination organisation’s domain and indicate that they open a new tab. You can make your decision on the organisation’s official website.
Our current limits
This first version has not had an independent accessibility audit. We cannot control the accessibility of external donation websites or your email app. The supplied logo is preserved as provided; its text is included in the image’s alternative text.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything prevents you from using the site, email contact@helpincrisis.org.uk. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you’re comfortable sharing, your browser or assistive technology. We will use that information to investigate.
