Privacy, in plain language.
This notice explains how this version of the Help in Crisis UK website handles information. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
Who we are
Independent UK-based humanitarian fundraising initiative. Not a registered charity. For privacy enquiries, email contact@helpincrisis.org.uk.
When you browse
This website has no account registration, donation forms, advertising trackers or visitor analytics. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts and photographs are served with the website rather than embedded from third-party services.
The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information, requested page and time of access, to deliver the website and protect its security. The provider’s own privacy information applies to that processing. If hosted on Vercel, see Vercel’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
When you email us
If you choose to contact us, your email address, message and any information you include will be handled through our email service to respond to your enquiry and manage any resulting conversation. Access should be limited to people who need it to handle the enquiry.
We do not add enquiries to marketing lists. We keep correspondence only for as long as needed for the enquiry and any necessary records, and review it for deletion when no longer needed. Avoid including sensitive personal or payment information.
External donations and links
Donation buttons take you to another organisation’s website. We do not receive your payment details, donation amount, Gift Aid information or donor record. The receiving organisation controls its own forms, cookies and privacy practices. Read its policies before giving.
We do not use affiliate tracking or treat clicks as donations. Our Impact can publish reviewed aggregate totals from dedicated Help in Crisis UK fundraising pages and separately verified offline sales. No individual donor records are collected by this website.
JustGiving progress widgets
The British Red Cross fundraising page is connected to the Consumer API. Its optional official widget loads only when you choose to load it. The widget service may be unavailable; the direct fundraising link remains available. Doing so connects your browser to JustGiving and may share your IP address, browser and page information; JustGiving may use cookies under its own policies. You can use the external fundraising page link instead.
The server reads JustGiving page details using a private AppID, validates the page, beneficiary and GBP online amount, and caches only approved aggregate fields and their reading date for five minutes. We do not request individual donation or donor records, messages, payment details or Gift Aid declarations. The AppID is never sent to your browser. Public evidence must have personal information removed.
Questions or requests
You can contact us to ask about information held in connection with your enquiry, request a correction or ask for its deletion. We may need to establish which correspondence is yours before acting. We will explain if information needs to be kept for an outstanding matter.
We will update this notice if the website’s functionality or handling of information changes.
